March fun

So much has been going on in kindergarten over the last month.  We began March by celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday.  We came to school dressed as our favorite characters, welcomed a guest reader, and had a community read-along in the gym.

In Writing Workshop we have been writing persuasive pieces.  These were taken on the first day of this new unit.  I hope you're enjoying seeing some work shared with you on Seesaw.  My goal is to have a weekly writing post from kids to you so you can see how writing changes and develops.

Mr. Hall and our 5th grade buddies have tapped a few trees.  Mr. Hall asked some of our kids to help him collect sap one cold morning.

Here is the sap the kids brought in.   The 5th graders will be hard at work boiling sap this week and on Friday the whole school will get to enjoy a yummy maple syrup treat.

Here we are trying a bit of the frozen sap.  Many of us were surprised to find out that it tasted just like ice.

We love having our Woofs and Books dog friends listen to us read.  This has been such a high point of Wednesday afternoons in March.
